I experienced an extremely adverse reaction to this product. I took half the recommended dose for two days, then proceeded to become so ill for 6 months that I almost died. I had severe chest pains, stomach pains, insomnia, headaches, burning pains throughout my limbs, nausea, rapid weight loss, anxiety, depression, and words don't even do justice to describe how bad I felt. The nausea was so intense I couldn't eat and had to go on a liquid diet to survive for months.
I had no idea why I reacted this way at the time it's now 2 years later. I do believe this product is pure MSM. After further research, testing, and experimentation, I believe I have chronic mercury poisoning. MSM is considered to be a weak mercury binder, meaning it will bind to mercury just enough to toss it around the body but not well enough to carry it out of the body for elimination.
The symptoms I experienced were most likely acute mercury poisoning, triggered by the MSM. The MSM does not contain any mercury itself, the mercury was already in my body. But for someone with too much accumulated mercury, MSM can create a retoxicification, which is basically experiencing mercury poisoning all over again.
I recently increased the sulfur content of my diet and experienced similar symptoms but to a much milder degree, because the sulfur content in food is much lower than that recommended by this company. People who have an adverse reaction to MSM may have a mercury buildup in their body. Do not assume everything is die-off symptoms and you should push through or even increase your dosage.
